Title:  Medical Purchasing Specialist

Accountabilities

Sourcing and Negotiation

  • Negotiates contracts, pricing, and terms of service with suppliers to secure the best value for the organization.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to meet AMG’s procurement needs, securing the best value for AMG through negotiated contracts, pricing, and terms of service.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive supplier database for easy access and evaluation.
  • Maintains a comprehensive supplier database to facilitate easy access and evaluation, enhancing efficiency in supplier selection and management.
  • Compliance and Standards
  • Ensures all purchasing activities comply with AMG standards and policies to maintain integrity in procurement activities.
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations and best practices in procurement and supply chain management to adapt and improve procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Implements and monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance across all purchasing activities.

  • Inventory Management

  • Monitors and maintain optimal inventory levels to support operational requirements and reduce inventory holding costs and optimize purchasing strategies.
  • Coordinates with suppliers to ensure that deliveries meet established timelines and quality standards.
  • Collaborates with warehouse and logistics teams to streamline inventory processes and to improve inventory management efficiency.
  • Cross Department Collaboration

  • Works closely with cross-department teams to understand their specific purchasing needs to ensure alignment between departmental needs and overall organizational goals.
  • Supplier Relationship Management

  • Builds and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable service, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Conducts regular performance reviews with suppliers to assess quality and delivery metrics, improving supplier performance and service quality.

Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's)

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience as a Purchasing specialist, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
  • MS Office Proficient and ERP experience is a must.
  • Excellent English and Arabic skills (reading, writing and spoken).
