Title: Construction Accountant
Job Purpose
Manage the financial activities of the company's construction projects to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, managing project budgets, and monitoring project costs to ensure profitability.
Technical Accountabilities
- Manage the financial aspects of construction projects, including financial reporting, budgeting, and cost monitoring to ensure accurate and timely processing of project invoices, payments, and receipts
- Prepare project budgets and forecasts and monitor actual costs against budgeted costs to ensure project profitability.
- Create and maintain financial reports for each project, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.to reconcile project accounts.
- Manage project change orders, including pricing, billing, and documentation to ensure that all expenses are properly recorded.
- Prepare financial reports to ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements, including GAAP and tax regulations.
- Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to identify financial risks and opportunities and provide recommendations for improvement.

Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's)
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction accounting or project accounting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Experience with project management software and financial systems
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
