Title: Senior Site Construction Engineer
Accountabilities
Project Management & Oversight:
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to optimize workflow and project progress.
- Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-control measures.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Conduct regular site meetings to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
Technical Expertise & Problem Solving:
- Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team, resolving complex engineering issues and design discrepancies.
- Review and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Ensure that materials and equipment are installed correctly and meet quality standards.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards on the construction site.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce all safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
- Implement and manage site-specific safety plans and procedures.
- Investigate and report on any accidents or incidents, and implement corrective actions.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
- Track and manage change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittals.
- Ensure that all project closeout documents are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction engineering, with a focus on [Specific type of construction - e.g., commercial, residential, infrastructure].
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role on construction projects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Excellent computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
